Looks like we are going down to the low 40's for a few hours tomorrow and Saturday mornings. I'll take it, we were forecast to go into the 30's. Let's hope everyone's forecast is on the way up.

Just checked my tank....Amerigas FINALLY delivered after 4 calls starting on January 6th...was really starting to get antsy since I was sitting on only 17%. They usually deliver when I'm at 30-35%.
Light is on in my pump house (water) so should have a warm, trouble free night...as long as we don't lose power 😏😏😏

Ginger they are the worst. Their service is awful. I used to be on a 'keep full' schedule. Someone would come around everybody-2 weeks and top my tank off. At some point without notifying me Amerigas changed me to 'scheduled delivery' based on some computer model they use. I have almost run completely out of fuel twice in the past 2 years. And there is no way to actually talk to anyone at the local,Ocala office. You get sent to some other state switchboard when you call to ask for a delivery. And it's slow. Like takes them 2 weeks to deliver

We are all electric and hubby keeps our house really cold winter 🥶 and really hot 🥵! I think all to make sure our bills don't get too high!

Another cold night tonight forecast is it will go to 42 degrees. And I forgot my seedlings but they can usually handle above 40s. Hope it doesn't go below that because I don't feel like going to the back porch to cover the seedlings. I forgot tonight is the coldest night!

We are all electric too. The propane is for my greenhouse heater. I've tried to get with another company and ditch Amerigas but none of the other local companies will give me service. I've been renting my propane tank since 2002. The original company I started with was TECO. It was sold at least 3 times and is now Amerigas. When you rent a tank no other company is legally allowed to sell the propane to you. None of the other companies here will rent a tank to me for a greenhouse because they say it doesn't generate enough revenue for them. And if I were to buy my own they still would not take me as a customer. Besides which there is a national shortage of tanks of all sizes right now.
We are getting ready to replace both our 20+ year old water heaters. They are at the end of their lives. The plumber and the electrician told me that if we replaced them both with new more modern energy efficient units and put both units on a timer, we can save hundreds off our electric bill.

We have another night of 30's tonight then Sunday we are back up to 80f with lows of almost 60 for several days

At our last home we finally bought our propane tank and saved a bundle. You can negotiate on the price of the gas when you are not locked into a sleazy bunch like Amerigas. They have the very worst reputation here in our area also.

Alice the independents won't sell me one 'just for the greenhouse' or sell me propane for one if I was to get one. I have talked to both of them (Ferrell Gas and Davis Gas). I thought Davis would, because we had to buy our own 500 gallon tank for our generator and they installed it and they service it with fuel. But they refused to do the same with a 250 for the greenhouse. They claimed they would not make enough money to justify it...?????? Like, money is money even if its not a lot. Truth, my greenhouse tank uses a LOT more than the generator tank. I've never had to have any fuel added to the generator tank since it was installed. The greenhouse tank I get fuel at least 3 x a season, one an almost complete fill (right now close to $1200.)

I've looked into an alternative source of heat for the greenhouse, but so far, nothing will work as well as the big Modine heater and the propane tank. I would LOVE to say goodbye to the propane company, but I'm kind of trapped with them

Goodness Gina, never realized it is such a hassle to get propane, and does sound like you're trapped Thumbs down .

We're all electric, wish I had natural gas for cooking, neighborhoods all around us have natural gas, but they didn't put lines in our neighborhood. My Dad has TECO gas and they have messed up his bills so many times, trying to get anyone on the phone is so frustrating.

44° this morn, it only dropped to that about five AM so not too bad. I did see a wee bit of frost on the rooftops across the street though. I had a friend over last night and we made a nice fire in the outdoor pit, so I threw extra wood on it to keep that area warm longer, my orchids are over there, so I hope it helped. I too am tired of dragging plants in and out.

Wow Gina, that is strange. We bought a used tank from Ferrell and frankly, we only used it for the BBQ. Although our home was plumbed for a gas cooktop I use an induction range so we only filled our 50 gallon tank every other year or so.
Our tank here is rented and because we know we won't be here that long it did not seem prudent to buy it. We rent it from Suburban and they have been very easy to work with. Gas is not cheap but we use so little.

Only cold for an hour or so here this am. I did see a bit of frost but everything looks good. We have not had much rain, we sure could use a good downpour.

I have been with Amerigas for about 35 years....always been happy with them until this last delivery. Never had a problem before. I heat and cook with gas. Love cooking with gas...electronic ignition so even if power goes out I can still light the burners with a match...just can't use the oven or broiler, but that's ok since coffee gets made on the stovetop 😏😏

Gotta have coffee no matter what...we have a propane gas outdoor stove for camping, we keep it here when a hurricane coming, just so we can cook and have our COFFEE. Green Grin!

Went out in shorts and a tee shirt this morning, it's now a bit past 1:30 and the temperature has dropped 15 degrees since 10AM, 58F and breezy now...rolling my eyes. Looks like colder than they said tonight, hopefully stays above 50 since I put all my plants back outside and it rained so everything soaking wet now.

Supposed to be 48 - 50ish tomorrow morning. It is about 58 now and it feels so darn cold after those 80 degree days. I moved a lot of plants out and I am planning on leaving them out. I don't see any days or nights below the mid 40's for the next few weeks. I think it will be easier to cover a few tender things if we do get that expected cold in March.

I left mine out too and I am not planning to bring them back in to the tent. We are dismantling the tent until next cold 🥶 season.
