OK, I'm convinced. I will take none of them with me. It's not like I won't have any plants to deal with. Whistling

It is one of the things I look forward to the most moving North. I will be able to grow Hostas again, and Rudebeckias, coneflowers if I do not have that spelled correctly.
I am in a spot here where they are better served as sautéed greens rather that possible plants to grow.
That and four seasons where leaves turn yellow and gold and orange and red! Not just BROWN and the fall off. You know how sick I am of brown??? Drooling

I have tried a couple of Hostas here, and it's about like trying to grow Tulips or crocus...plant in fall, get puny flowers in spring, and then they just disappear...never to be seen again. Gardening will be a learning curve for you, Ken. Where you are now, you can do a bit of both dormant and tropical. Once you hit USDA zone 10 it's best to forget the plants that need winter chill, but be prepared to cover the tropicals when freak freezes happen. I'm sure you've picked up on that on this forum. Smiling

A couple of Crocus popped up in my front border. I am so not looking to more snow forecast for tomorrow and Tuesday.

Oh my, thanks so much for the reminder. Up north I will get to see crocus, daffodils, tulips, snow drops!!! I miss them so much!!

You can grow garlics far more successfully in the "north" than in south-central Florida, Bill. If I were still selling the gourmet garlics, I could load you up with some.

Nah. I just meant I buy them at the supermarket and add a little to juice up my sauce when I make sausage and peppers. Over pasta, with salad, yummy!

Yeah, we suffer through spring here with only amaryllis to substitute for those northern spring bulbs.

What I miss is the relief that the spring flowers bring when the months of awful, cold, wet, grey depressing weather is over . . . wait! We don't have months of awful weather here either, so . . . really?

Very pretty, it will be like your little bit of the tropics in MI.

Your Adeniums look wonderful, Bill! If you can give them good light, they should do well in Michigan.

I'll bet the snowdrops along your river walk will be out soon, too Ursula.

Feels like spring here today, too. I am wearing jeans and a sweatshirt, and have been all day. Almost never wear long pants in March here.
